Awesome article - http://health.msn.com/nutrition/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100197361>1=31036
"Recent research has revealed bioactive compounds in beer that battle cancer, boost your metabolism, and more. And these benefits come on top of the oft-touted upsides of moderate alcohol intake: clot prevention, cleaner arteries, and reduced stress."
"Hops help cut the sweetness in a beer, delivering a crisp citrus-and-pine kick to the back of your tongue. But the cone-shaped hops flower is more than just a flavor savior. Researchers have shown that it's also a significant source of cholesterol-lowering, cancer-fighting, and virus-killing compounds called polyphenols. What's more, "Just one 12-ounce beer a day decreased fibrinogen, a clotting factor, and increased albumin, which is very important for protein metabolism"

» Sue me for being too obsessed with astrology
http://www.forbes.com/lists/2006/03/28/billionaires-horoscope-astrology-cz_lk_0328billyhoroscopes.html
It’s a bit ironic that top astrology honors for this male-dominated billionaires list goes to the sign symbolized by a virgin, but it actually isn’t too surprising. Virgos are known to be hardworking, determined, detail-oriented and analytical. They are driven more by their desire to achieve excellence at whatever they do than by the pursuit of riches

» Someone get me an Advil...please...
Just wanted to say a very late Happy New Years to all my readers (if I do have any ^_~).
My holidays was pretty crappy since I caught a flu -__- What a flu...it's been more than a week already and I'm still feeling like sh'it. I couldn't celebrate my New Years properly either (had a migraine and I could have stayed in bed than rather than celebrate with old family friends -_-). My jaw and head hurts like crazy, it hurts to swallow and I have a pretty tight schedule for the week (oh joy.) Well one thing I'm looking forward is tuesday - College starts for me :D! I've been putting it off for two years ( 1/2 year - part time studies ; 1 1/2 year - full time work). After two years, it was hard to stay sane when I have no social life whatsoever. It was just work, work, work with some gym and gameplaying on the side (Oh well...I made some friends there). But I seriously need to get out more. I hope college would encourage me to do so...meet new people and make new friends. Heck, I need to improve on a lot of things...and stir that creativity hidden inside me >_<.
Forgive me for saying this but I wish I had something to scrape the insides of my throat...it's fcken itchy. I can't stop coughing and liquid medicine doesn't help much.

» The miserable end is near
I'm obsess with Wicked D: Sadly this is their last week here in Toronto and all the tickets are sold out! *weeps* It'll probably be back next September/October, hopefully :(. I wish they had Miss Saigon back!
But I got this little rant about casting Asians in broadway. Aren't you sick of them (the asian actresses) being typecasted in the same roles Lea Salonga once did? (Kim of Miss Saigon, Mei Lei / Linda Low of Flower Drum Song & Eponine of Les Miserables)??? I'm wondering if there are any outstanding Asian actresses of Broadway but nothing comes into mind (aside from Lea Salonga). I'd really, really want to see them stand out. Speaking of Lea Salonga, I'd love to see her as Elphaba o.o; She'd fit the part.
And I'm sick (ew...) and it's a fever. Ugh, I just hate this feeling :( My body aches (esp my back) and I didn't sleep well for two days.
I don't believe in New Years resolution since I'm lacking that determination but if I were to make some, it'd be the following - 1) Keep going to the gym! Dammit D: Must have nice legs 2) Eat minimal proportions of rice (or none at all! Go All wheat!) 3) Keep school as your top priority, practice your talent every frickn day! 4) Don't be TOO critical / judgmental of your own arts D: Or you'll give up on that certain project.
Hopefully next year would give me a fresh new start in life, and a good one at that. Good riddance to this year X) I simply hate it.

» good news~
I got accepted into the program I wanted ^__^ Wooo~ I'll be way busy next year but I know it's for the best for me and my family ^^ I just need to get a new job and budget all those finances..eee! I'm going to miss my gym (I'm not sure if I'll renew it in January) But I'll miss my yoga and combat classes T_T; Now I'm worried about keeping all that weight off if I don't sign up for some yoga~ AHhhh
Well I'm happy nonetheless ^^ (excluding the dam loans I'll be owing couple of months from now). Next year - new beginnings :)~ Make new friends; do what I was once passionate about - art. Less time playing online games now...and more time to grow up and explore this crazy world!

» Hoo Ha ... ramblings!
I'm alive! I haven't written anything in forever. I just stop thinking about life overall. It isn't a good thing, I know. I've neglected a lot of things and was caught in my own small world.
Can't wait til next year...or next february (Chinese New Year!). This year just plain out sucks when it comes to relationships - friendship & lovers. I just noticed a lot of them fell apart. It's a pretty auspicious year.
On a bright note, I'm going back to school next year for the arts...rather than travel & tourism (which I was suppose to attend next January). I'm growing old and I miss my sense of creativity (and my old passion for visual arts). I'm trying to get back into drawing (struggling at the moment) but trying >_<. I just need a lot of references when it comes to body movement and angles *sigh*.
...Holy shit, I need a new computer as well xD I've been gaming waay too much and my mouse & keyboards fail to comply.

Top 10 Scariest Movies
When Norman Bates, dressed as his mother, ripped open Janet Leigh's shower curtain and knifed her to death in "Psycho," horror movies changed. Along with Leigh's blood, classic horror style and romantic figures like Frankenstein and Dracula went right down the shower drain. The veiled sexuality and hidden violence that dominated most classic horror films suddenly were gleefully dragged into the open, for everyone to exploit. For better or worse, style often became as important as substance, and booming box-office numbers proved that horror was serious business. The shifting times created opportunities for filmmakers to innovate, finding new and terrifying ways to scare the pants off audiences.

» 5 Traits Of A Good Couple
Forgive me for flogging your friendlist with health/relationship advices but I couldn't help it XD I need it for myself to read as well lol -----------
We´ve all seen them – the couple that´s too good to be true. They never seem to fight or argue, and both strangers and friends try to figure out how they make it work. While it clearly varies from couple to couple, most all of them have a few common traits. With the notable exception of one, all the others can readily be applied to relationships you have with your coworkers, friends, and family. If you see all these qualities in the relationships in your life, more power to you. If not, you´ll need to learn a thing or two!

» What kind of listener are you?
If you...try to assess yourself against the person you are talking to, you're comparing.
If you...pay more attention to subtle cues and intonations than what the person is actually saying, or you make assumptions about what she thinks of you, you're mind reading.
If you...go over in your mind everything you are about to say next rather than listening intently to what is being said, you're rehearsing.

» 7 Ways of Eating Healthy
Who says healthy eating has to be work? Our nutrition experts let us in on some super-fast, incredibly easy ways to fill up on foods that are good for you. Try these tips!
Get sneaky. That is, sneak fruits and vegetables — excellent sources of disease-fighting vitamins, fibre, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemicals — into the foods you already eat, advises Evelyn Tribole, MS, RD, author of Stealth Health: How to Sneak Nutrition Painlessly into Your Diet (Penguin, 2000).
Top off your morning cereal or yogurt, for example, with blueberries, peaches and the like. Add finely chopped carrots, broccoli and kale to pasta sauces, meat loaf, soups and salads. (Hint: Buy them ready-cut at your supermarket.)

» 8 Things to Pack For a Tropical Vacation
Another article *chuckles*. Couldn't help it, sorry guys ^________^
Before you get caught up in the excitement of your trip, remember to pack the essentials. Esther Zsoldos writes.
Sometimes when packing for an exotic vacation we tend to get caught up in the excitement of escaping our everyday routines. This makes it easy to forget the essential commodities necessary for a tropical vacation. Extreme changes in climate and landscape can be underestimated and later regretted.
Remembering to pack these important things will ensure less stress in a foreign country and ensure your vacation is enjoyable.

I need this ^______^ I dream of traveling so I need to prepare ----
What to pay, what to bring, where to go, and more. These are just some of the questions you should be asking yourself. Esther Connors writes.
For those of us who do not have much traveling experience, planning a trip can be a mind-numbing task. But planning a trip should be as enjoyable as going on the trip. The key is to focus on what you want and how much you’re willing to pay – easier said than done.
Follow some simple guidelines and reduce your planning anxiety.

» Travel the World For Less
An article :) I like keeping them so I can re-read them later ---
Traveling the world can be one the most enlightening experiences. Meeting different people and seeing how they live can completely alter your perspective on life. Many of us dream and talk about traveling abroad to exotic, cultural lands to soak up the rich history and traditions. It should be an experience that we all take. But for many, such a vacation is not feasible for two reasons: time and money. ( continue... )

» Dedicated to someone dear to me...
If I never knew you If I never felt this love I would have no inkling of How precious life can be And, if I never held you I would never have a clue How, at last, I'd find in you The missing part of me
In this world so full of fear Full of rage and lies I can see the truth so clear In your eyes; so dry your eyes
And I'm so grateful to you I'd have lived my whole life through Lost forever If I never knew you
If I never knew you I'd be safe, but half as real Never knowing I could feel A love so strong and true I'm so grateful to you I'd have lived my whole life through Lost forever If I never knew you
I thought our love would be so beautiful Somehow, we'd make the whole world bright I never knew that fear and hate could be so strong All they'd leave us were these whispers in the night And, still, my heart is saying we were right Oh, oh
If I never knew you (There's no moment I regret) If I never knew your love (Since the moment that we met) I would have no inkling of (If our time has gone too fast) How precious life can be (I've lived at last)
I thought our love would be so beautiful (so beautiful) Somehow, we'd make the whole world bright I thought our love would be so beautiful We'd turn the darkness into light And, still, my heart is saying we were right We were right
And, if I never knew you (if I never knew you) I'd have lived my whole life through Empty as the sky Never knowing why Lost forever If I never knew you
To my best friend Matthew, this isn't the end of us....

» just a dreamer...
I realized that all my life, I've been dreaming of posibilities yet I never act upon them. Why? There are lot of pathetic excuses I can use to stop myself from making my dreams a reality. I want to do a lot of things, yet I feel like I'll never reach it. I'm hopeless because I believe my dreams are unobtainable...I expect change, I expect something big. I keep waiting for nothing, never acting out on what I really want because I'm too afraid that I will stumble and fall harder to the ground. I'm only a dreamer *sigh*
